Het heldere glas zit vol fijne ribbels die van boven naar beneden lopen en eindigen in een speelse, golvende rand. Juist die ribbels maken haar niet alleen mooi, maar hebben ook echt een functie.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKeesje is gemaakt van Holophane glas. Bij deze glastechniek zorgen de ribbels en prisma’s ervoor dat het licht mooi door het glas breekt en wordt verspreid. Daardoor ontstaat er, zeker wanneer Keesje aanstaat, een prachtig lichtspel. De Holophane-techniek werd eind 19e eeuw, rond 1890, ontwikkeld en werd daarna veel toegepast in verlichting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIk schat Keesje zelf op circa 1930–1940.
